Frequently Asked Questions Related To JEE MAINS

Number of attempts per year – JEE Main 2024 2nd Attempt will now be held in Apr 2024. The tentative dates are from 1st Apr to 15th Apr. Two attempts are given in a year as per current pattern, in January and April.

Eligibility – A student gets total 3 chances to appear for JEE Mains. First one in the year when he/she is in XII, and 2 more after that. Students should score 75% marks(65% for SC/ST) in XII, and be in top 20% tile to be eligible.

Reservation – 15% seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC-NCL,10% for GEN-EWS, 5% for PwD.

Syllabus – Around 11 Chapters and several topics of Physics, Chem, Maths have been deleted from the JEE Main Syllabus

Pattern – Total 90 questions, 30 in each subject are asked in JEE Main. Out of 30 questions, 20 are MCQ Type and 10 are Numerical Grid based. Out of 10 Numerical Grid questions, any 5 are to be attempted.
